Beach Bag ride or dies: The Must Haves That We Can’t Beach Without

As we roll into August, I’d just like to formally announce: summer is basically over, which basically means it’s Christmas, which basically means I’m in denial.

So let’s all just agree to emotionally disassociate and pack as many beach days as we possibly can into the next few weeks before it becomes socially unacceptable to drink rosé out of a spiked tumbler while wearing SPF 50.

Whether it’s a quick after-work dip or a full-blown sun-worshipping Saturday, — these are the non-negotiables in our beach bags. The tried-and-true, the sand-proof, the can’t-live-withouts.

The Bluetooth Beach Speaker

Your beach vibe deserves a proper soundtrack. Our go-to speaker is small enough to toss in your bag but loud enough to drown out the group next to you playing country music. Sorry…..not sorry.  This is our fave!

Beachy Cup Holders

These genius cups have little stakes that stick in the sand so your drink isn’t rolling away like your will to return to work on Monday. We are obsessed. They hold your bevy, your phone, your EarPods — whatever you need.

Aluminum Can Chillers

Because sipping a warm drink on the beach is simply not the vibe. These sleek can coolers keep your beverage chilled to perfection. They hold anything in a can ..seltzers , sparkling rosé or mocktails if we’re pretending to be responsible. It’s bringing class to the can.

Face Sunscreen (Specifically for the face)

We are not messing around with sun damage over here. And I know no one reading this is using sunscreen for the body on their precious face..right? Coming from your favorite esthetician and undercover sun worshiper, I’ve tried them all! I need a sunscreen that protects my skin, doesn’t sting my eyeballs and most importantly doesn’t make me break out. Even after a full 3 day weekend at the beach. The winner? Glow screen. Hands down.

Bonus..it makes your skin look dewy and amazing AND looks beautiful under makeup all year long.

Detangler for Post-Swim Hair

.Beach waves…Yes.

Beach tangles….No Thanks.

A good detangler and wide-tooth comb are non-negotiables in our bag. It’s the secret to keeping your hair soft, smooth, and glossy even after a salty swim. Almost every single team member said the KM detangler was there all time fave. (Available at all 3 salons!)

Beach Reads

Books are a must — even if mine aren’t exactly easy beach reads. I’m that person who brings personal development books to the beach, usually much to the chagrin of my beach mate. A full blog on my favorite reads is coming soon — but if you spot someone under an umbrella deeply pondering their life purpose while everyone else is flipping through rom coms… it’s probably me.

*I did just read a few funny, lighthearted fiction books (because i was attending a personal development retreat…and there’s only so much development one can work on at the same time!)

Margo’s Got Money Troubles: A Novel

All the Other Mothers Hate Me

Very Bad Company: A Novel (I think I liked this one because it took place in my favorite place, Miami!!)

Baby Wipes

Trust me— just pack them. Spilled drinks, sandy hands, just all the messy things— wipes are the unsung heroes of summer survival.

Power is a luxury.

A fully charged portable battery is essential for keeping your phone, iPad, speaker, and “work-from-beach” laptop alive and well. Because losing your playlist or the ability to take ANOTHER pic of you and your crew…Tragic. Go for one that charges fast, lasts all day, and lets you stay unplugged… without actually unplugging. I am obsessed with this one!

So there you have it — the essentials we’re stuffing in our beach bags and dragging to the beach. Let’s keep squeezing every last salty, sun-kissed second out of this magical time of year and I’ll see you in the fall to work on all that sun damage. 😉

❤️ Hillary
